THE DG TWIN TEAM

Innovation, specialization, a focus on people and ideas, community, agile structure, and work-life balance are some of the key pillars of our team.

A highly skilled team, primarily composed of researchers, determined to make a tangible contribution to the decarbonization of the propulsion and energy sectors.

FOUNDERS

Michela Costa

Main Founder e CTO

Michela Costa is a Senior Researcher at the CNR - Institute of Sciences and Technologies for Sustainable Energy and Mobility of Naples (STEMS).

PhD in Engineering of Thermomechanical Systems and graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Naples "Federico II", Michela Costa has developed highly specialized skills in numerical techniques, with particular application to energy systems.

Training abroad at the University of Bristol (UK) and the Ecole Polytechnique of Paris (France), participation in various research and development projects and their coordination as Project Manager, teaching and tutoring activities for young researchers, as well as the evaluation activities as Scientific Technical Expert on behalf of various public bodies, both national and international, have determined an ability to relate easily both with the academic and training world and with the industrial world.

She is the author of 2 patents for industrial inventions, of over 200 scientific publications, reviewer of international journals and organizer of thematic congresses.

employees

LUIGI ESPOSITO

Mechanical Designer

Luigi Esposito holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering for Design and Manufacturing from the University of Naples “Federico II”. He has specialized in the field of road vehicles.

He has experience in 3D CAD modeling using software such as SolidWorks, PTC Creo, and CATIA V5, as well as skills in ANSYS, MATLAB, and other computational and simulation tools.

Graduated cum laude, he developed a thesis project focused on the design, through parametric CAD modeling, of a system for the diagnostics of gamma ray beams originating from the core of the ITER reactor. The work, carried out at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DII), is titled:
“Product design through parametric CAD systems in complex projects: development of a device for the alignment of detectors for plasma diagnostics in a nuclear fusion reactor.”

He has also taken part in several extracurricular projects, including the EBEC 2021 and Formula SAE competitions, as well as a 20-hour training course organized by Randstad.

Davide sgambato

software Designer

Davide Sgambato holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering for Energy and Environment from the University of Naples “Federico II”.

He has technical expertise in the use of energy analysis software, including TRNSYS, Revit, Termolog, and PVsyst, as well as 3D modeling tools such as DS CATIA, with additional experience in MATLAB and C++.

Graduated cum laude, he developed a thesis project focused on the design and performance optimization of agrivoltaic systems across different territorial contexts, carried out at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DII).

He is currently fully involved in the "RAYS – Real-time AI-driven Yield Optimization in Agrivoltaic Systems" project, part of the extended partnership FAIR – Future Artificial Intelligence Research, funded by Italy's PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan).

WHAT WE BELIEVE IN

Anyone who works in DG TWIN knows the importance of their role, which is not limited to performing their duties well, but which means being aware of collaborating on common long-term objectives, which contribute to the general well-being of people and the environment.

The DG Twin Team is intrinsically aligned with the current need for a global transition towards:

SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES
SUPPLY OF CLEAN AND AFFORDABLE ENERGY
GENDER EQUALITY WITH A VERY DIFFERENT TEAM BOTH BY AGE AND GENDER

The work team is oriented towards the affirmation of women in industrial environments whose development is focused on the implementation of STEM technologies (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), in particular artificial intelligence.
